Duvar 1 is part of an ongoing artwork series that explores the boundaries and layers of a wall. The wall featured in the artwork is located in the artist’s childhood home in Turkey. It was once used by nationalists to make political and aggressive statements, who painted it brown during her childhood. This piece investigates fragments of the wall as seen through a window, layering them with TouchDesigner. By transforming the three layers into moving point clouds, the artist isolates and examines the dark paint, the wall itself, and the curtains as they are the central characters on the scene. Image 1 presents the neutral state: a 3D point cloud where the paint, wall, and curtains remain in their original positions. Image 2 shows the paint dissolving within the 3D environment, shifting the focus to the white wall and the curtains. This reflects the artist’s experience of growing up amid societal discrimination. Image 3 represents the artist’s current state, emphasizing her continued engagement with these issues and how they remain present in her perspective today.
